1. The short version
You can cancel your Pro subscription at any time from Settings › Subscription. You keep full Pro access until the end of the billing period you've already paid for, and your account then reverts to the Free plan. We don't issue refunds for the unused portion of a paid period, except where required by the Australian Consumer Law or in the specific circumstances below.
2. Free trial
Pro includes a 7-day free trial. If you cancel before the trial ends you won't be charged. Once the trial converts to a paid subscription, the standard cancellation terms in Section 3 apply.
3. Monthly and annual cancellations
Cancellations use Stripe's cancel_at_period_end — you keep Pro until the end of the period you have already paid for, then your account moves to Free. Monthly plans bill again at the end of each month; annual plans at the end of each year. We do not pro-rate refunds for the unused remainder of a paid period.
4. Annual plan — 14-day cooling-off
If you upgrade to (or renew) an annual Pro plan and contact support@boomerang.study within 14 days of that charge, we'll refund the annual fee in full provided usage during that period has been minimal (under 30 questions answered with AI marking). After 14 days the standard policy in Section 3 applies.
5. Duplicate or accidental charges
If you've been charged twice, charged after cancelling, or charged on an account you didn't intend to use, email support@boomerang.study with the charge details and we'll investigate and refund any genuine error within 5 business days.
6. Service failure
If Boomerang.study is materially unavailable for an extended period (more than 48 consecutive hours) during a paid billing period, contact support and we'll credit or refund the affected portion of your subscription.
7. Australian Consumer Law
Our services come with consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2, Competition and Consumer Act 2010 Cth) that cannot be excluded. If a service has a major failure you are entitled to a refund or a re-supply. Nothing in this policy limits those statutory rights. The Office of Fair Trading in your state and the ACCC at accc.gov.au can assist if you believe your rights have not been honoured.
8. What is not refundable
- The unused portion of a monthly plan after cancellation (you keep access until period end instead).
- Subscriptions terminated for breach of our Terms of Service.
- Charges older than 90 days (except where required by law).
9. How to request a refund
Email support@boomerang.study from the email address on the account with: the date of the charge, the last 4 digits of the card used (or the Stripe receipt), and a short explanation. We respond within 5 business days and process approved refunds back to the original payment method within 10 business days.
