1. Acceptance
By creating an account you agree to these Terms. Your acceptance timestamp is logged against your profile.
2. Service description
Boomerang.study provides exam-style practice questions, AI answer marking, adaptive learning, and progress tracking for Australian senior secondary students.
3. Eligibility
You must be in Year 11 or 12 (or a parent/guardian of one) and aged 13 or older. Users under 13 require parental consent. Boomerang.study covers the Australian curriculum only.
4. Accounts
One account per person. You must keep your credentials confidential and notify support@boomerang.study of any unauthorised access.
5. Free plan
5 questions per day, resetting at midnight AEST (Queensland time). MCQ marking only on the free plan — AI marking of written formats requires Pro. Free limits may be adjusted with at least 30 days' notice.
6. Subscriptions
Pro is $25.00 AUD/month or $200.00 AUD/year. A 7-day free trial is available for Pro. Billing is processed by Stripe. Cancellation: access continues until the end of the current billing period and then reverts to Free; no refund is issued for the current billing period (see our Refund Policy for exceptions). Price changes: 30 days' written notice. Payment failure: 7-day cure period, then your account reverts to Free.
7. Fair use
Pro accounts are subject to a fair-use cap of 100 AI-marked written answers per day (MCQ practice remains uncapped). This cap exists to prevent automated abuse and to keep AI marking costs sustainable — it is well above genuine study volume. No bots, scripts, or automated usage. No account sharing. Unusual usage patterns may trigger a review. For school or group licensing contact hello@boomerang.study.
8. Acceptable use
No unlawful, harmful, or discriminatory content through chat or feedback features. No reverse engineering or copying of platform content.
9. AI marking disclaimer
AI marking is educational guidance, not an official grade. Occasional errors are possible — flag suspected mistakes through the feedback button. Marks from Boomerang.study are not accepted by ATAR bodies, universities, or educational institutions. We regularly review and improve mark schemes.
10. Australian Consumer Law
Our services come with guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2, Competition and Consumer Act 2010 Cth) that cannot be excluded. Nothing in these Terms limits your statutory rights.
11. Intellectual property
All platform content is owned by or licensed to Boomerang Study Pty Ltd. You receive a personal, non-exclusive licence to use the platform. Your own answers remain your property.
12. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy forms part of these Terms.
13. Limitation of liability
The platform is provided "as is". Indirect loss is excluded. Our liability is capped at the total fees you paid in the prior 3 months. This does not apply to negligence, fraud, or any breach of the Australian Consumer Law.
14. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts for breach of Terms, fraud, or fair-use violations. No refund is provided on termination for breach.
15. Changes
We will give 14 days' notice of any material change to these Terms. Continued use after that period constitutes acceptance.
16. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. We will attempt good-faith dispute resolution first (legal@boomerang.study, 14 business days), then any matter falls to the Queensland courts.
